Set up your space ahead of time — because you really shouldn’t be getting up much.
Your body needs rest. Being horizontal as much as possible, especially that first week, makes a big difference in healing.
Instead of moving around the house, you’ll likely be asking someone else to grab things for you — which means everything needs to be easy to find and ready to go.
For me, that meant:

Postpartum bleeding is a lot at first, and having the right support is essential.
I used both postpartum diapers and thick overnight pads.
For the first few days, I layered a large pad inside the diaper (recommended by my midwives), which worked really well.
