1. A Safe, Comfortable Sleep Space

You don’t need anything complicated — but you do need something safe and easy to use.

For the newborn stage, a bedside bassinet made a huge difference for me.

Being able to reach my baby without fully getting out of bed made nighttime feeds and wake-ups so much smoother.

Look for:

  • firm, flat mattress
  • breathable sides
  • easy bedside access
